GSECL plans 800 MW thermal plant in Ukai

Gujarat State Electricity Corp Ltd is planning to set up 1×800 MW Coal based Super Critical Thermal Power Project in Vagda in Tapi district of Gujarat. The power plant will replace 2 x 120 MW and 1 x 200 MW units of Ukai thermal power plant. Total land requirement for the proposed project is 89 Acres which is within the existing plant boundary of 280 acres, out of which 32 acres will be used by demolished proposed plant area and the remaining 57 acres is available within the existing plant boundary and vacant. Coal requirement is around 3.3 mtpa which is likely to be sourced from South Eastern Coalfields and Western Coalfields. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 51130 million.
