Adani Power plans 1600 MW in Paraspani

Adani Power is planning to set up a 1600 MW ( 2 x 800 MW ) thermal power plant in Motia/Gangta and Gaighat villages in Godda Tehsil in Godda district of Jharkhand. The company is set to sign up a deal with the state government as it has received most statutory clearances except environmental clearance from ministry of environment. The power produced is likely to be evacuated to Bangladesh and West Bengal. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 1,15,190 million. As of February 2016, preliminary work for the project is being undertaken.

As of December 2016, the project is still in preliminary stage and the cost of the project has been revised to Rs. 1,39,060 million. The coal block of Jitpur alloted to Adani is now realloted to Jindal power project coming up near the project site.

As of November 2017, the project is reconfigured to use imported fuel and related railway siding infrastructure. The imported coal will be received at Dhamra port (Odisha) and the same will be transported to the project site by rail. The annual coal requirement is estimated to be about 7-9 MTPA
