Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd is planning to set up a pit head coal power plant in Umred coal mine area in Heoti village in Umrer Tehsil in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. The project involves setting up of 1 x 800 MW ultra supercritical thermal power plant with an annual coal requirement of 3.68 mtpa from Western Coalfields Ltd. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 60190 million.
