Manipur gets 2.4 MW waste to electricity project

Municipal Administration, Housing & Urban Development and Department of Power in Manipur has set up a 2.4 MW waste to electricity project in Lamdeng in Imphal in Manipur. The project was developed by Ahmedabad-based Innovative Eco-Care. It has used technology technology to utilise mixed municipal solid waste (MSW) to generate power, light diesel oil and compost. It will produce around 10 tonnes of compost and 3,000 kg of light diesel oil. It will use Renerzyme process which will use mixed microbial treatment of solid waste and reduce moisture and eliminates foul odours from the wastes.
