NLC India Ltd is planning to set up a 3200 coal based power generation project in Kumbhari and Taraikela villages near Briraj Nagar town in Jharsuguda district in Odisha. The project involves setting up of 4 x 800 MW in two phases of 3 x 800 in stage I and later 1 x 800 MW.
It may be noted that, the company has been alloted Talaibira coal block for this upcoming coal power project. The company has signed power purchase agreement with Nalco for evacuation of power for 1200 MW.
The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1,61,845 million.
