NLC plans improvement programme to upgrade lignite and efficiency of conveyors

Neyveli Lignite Corp has signed an agreement with Kobe Steel for upgrading lignite to brown coal to increase the calorific value. The company has sent around 80 tonnes of steel in Indonesia for drying & pelleting. The company is currently doing a feasibility study and a pilot plant in Neyveli. NLC has also entered into an agreement with National Institute of Technology, Trichy for improving energy efficiency of conveyors
