NLC Ltd is planning to set up 2400 thermal power plant in Khumberi/Taraikela/Thelkolai villages in Jharsuguda district of Odisha. The project involves setting up of 3 x 800 MW coal based thermal plant. The coal required for the project will be acquired from Taraibela coal block which has been awarded to NLC. As of February 2018, the project is in planning stage.
