ASTARC Power Private Ltd. (APPL) is in the process of establishing a 1320 MW Coal Based Super Critical Thermal Power Project in Nagpur District of Maharashtra state. In March 2010, Energy Department of Government of Maharashtra has issued a “Letter of Support” to APPL for setting up 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant in the state of Maharashtra. The coal required for the power project will be secured through long term coal linkage of indigenous coal. All required statutory clearances for the project including permissions like water supply, rail linkage etc are in advanced stage of processing. The proposed site for power plant is well connected by rail and road.
