About the Company :
HEL incorporated in 1994 as an investment company, currently belonging to the RP -Sanjeev Goenka group, is setting up 600 MW thermal power plant (2 units x 300 MW) in Haldia, West Bengal, on subcritical technology. Currently, CESC Infrastructure Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of CESC Ltd, owns the entire stake in HEL. The total project outlay, which was initially envisaged at Rs.3407.7 crore (i.e. Rs.5.68 crore/MW), has been revised to Rs.4182.4 crore (Rs.6.97 crore/MW) being funded at a debt equity ratio of 3:1. Financial closure for the entire project (including cost overrun) has been achieved.
