Patnazi Power Ltd was formed as a subsidiary of EEPL to undertake development of 21MW Patnazi Bunjwah Hydro Power Project near Thatri, District Kishtwar, and Province Jammu of J&K State on BOOT basis. PPL has entered into Implementation Agreement for this Hydro Project with Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDC) for a concession period of 35 years.
The 21MW Patnazi Bunjwah Hydro Power Project is a run of the river scheme on Kalnai Nallah, a tributary of Kaguni Nallah (which further joins river Chenab at Thathri) in Tehsil Kishtwar, District Kishtwar (J&K). The total catchment area of Kalnai Nallah at proposed diversion site (EL 1740m) has been estimated at 347sq.km. The project envisages diverting Kalnai Nallah inflows by constructing a diverging structure to divert the flow of the river up to desilting tank. The flow would lead to surface power house through a penstock of 290m length to feed generating units comprising 3 units of 7.0MW each.
