About the Company :

Damodar Valley has been ravaged frequently and the flood of 1943 that left the worst devastation in its wake. To control the same, the Corporation came into existence on 7th July, 1948 as the first multipurpose river valley project of independent India. Currently, the corporation operates hydel projects on Maithon dam and coal and gas based thermal power plants over Eastern India.
