Tata Sponge Iron plans 12.5 MW power plant in Bileipada

Tata Sponge Iron is planning to set up a captive power plant in Bileipada village in Barbil Tehsil in Keonjhar district of Odisha. The project involves setting up of a 12.5 MW using coal rejects from its existing plant. It may be noted, the project was earlier conceived as 25 MW but later revised down to 12.5 MW. Land required for the project is available. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 716 million.

As of May 2017, the project has received environmental clearance.
