Odisha Power Transmission Corporation is planning to set up a GIS grid substation in Khurda district in Odisha. It also involves setting up 220 kV LILO O/H transmission line in Balianta (Benupur) and associated (LILO on the proposed 220 kV D/C line from Pratapsasan to Nuapada-Cuttack at Loc No 131-132 Bentapur).
It will be using monopole D/C towers (line length in approximately 12 km) & 132 kV O/H transmission line from Balianta GIS substation up to Gangua canal using 220 kV D/C monopole towers (line length in approximately eight km) in Khurda district of Odisha on turnkey basis. The corp has invited tenders in January 2019 to implement the project. The contract is worth of ₹ 1,778 million.
