Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) was unbundled and restructured into 7 successor entities on functional lines w.e.f. 1st April, 2005 . Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd. (GETCO)is an electrical power Transmission Company in the state of Gujarat. The Company was promoted by erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) as a wholly owned-subsidiary in the context of liberalization and as a part of efforts towards restructuring of the power sector. Since restructuring in 2005 of erstwhile ujarat Electricity Board (GEB) in 2005 into seven companies, viz. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd.(GUVNL) and 6Subsidiaries, GETCO became a Subsidiary of GUVNL, the successor company to GEB.
